Ambulance access is via the gate to the Covenham home pitches to the right of the Premier Inn, beyond the small car park also on the right of the Premier Inn. The postcode is KT11 IBW.
For on field accidents and emergencies, the Head Coach, Senior Coach in Charge or First Aider present will assess the situation and decide whether to call for medical assistance. In the case of minor injuries, our first aid bags will be pitch-side at away games or in the locker when at home. The coach should call the injured player’s designated carer. More serious injuries will require the Coach in charge to call for medical backup from emergency services. A call will also be made to the player’s parents. In all cases a Medical Report will be made, and if required, submitted to the Club Committee for discussion on issues arising from the injury/incident.
A defibrillator can be found in the Covenham Green Room ( locked) cupboard. The Green Room padlock code will be known to the Coach in Charge as will the location of the key to the defibrillator cupboard.
England Lacrosse concussion protocols will be carried out. After a strike to the head, a player is required to sit out the game/practice, a concussion leaflet given and her family advised to seek urgent medical advice.
Our Welfare Officer will be happy to discuss with parents and guardians any aspects of concern regarding a player’s time within our club. She works closely with the Club Chair to ensure all our rules and guidance provide players with a safe playing environment in which players can thrive.
