Club Policy on Training and Match Selection

New Member Admission

We allocate places to new members based on availability of places. We do not have trials to join, as we welcome members of all playing abilities.

Training and Match Selection Policy

Cobham Lacrosse Club has a sport for all philosophy, with the overall objective of providing training and appropriate game time for members of all ages and abilities. Our Coach and Management Teams direct players to the training and match set-up that best suits their development. Please note that this assessment may change over the season.

Regional and National Assessment

The Club may direct suitable players to assessment for the various lacrosse regional and national development pathways. We can help transition from school to university lacrosse. We also assist players gaining further qualifications in umpiring and coaching.

Matches

South East Women’s Lacrosse Association (SEWLA) runs regional leagues at both junior and senior level. Cobham Lacrosse Club is affiliated to both, and to England Lacrosse as Governing Body.

1.     Juniors Competition

Junior Competition structure in 2024-25 is a four-way set-up with formal League matches, Rallies, 3-way competitions and Championships. Please note that members can only play for ONE club within each of the four pillars.

2.     Seniors Competition

The Club is affiliated to the SEWLA Women’s League structure. In 2024-25 we play in friendlies only.

Match Availability

Requests for match availability are sent approximately a week before each match. Matches can be viewed ahead on the Calendar. Team Management will make clear which players who can sign-up for which events. In the event of more than a permitted team roster being available, the team managers will take account of the attendance record of the player and will run a waiting list accordingly. All players are requested to inform us of availability changes as soon as possible. We keep records of anyone who commits to play and then drops out, which may affect their chance to play next time. This ensures places are fairly allocated.

Club Terms and Conditions

Cobham Lacrosse Club is a member of Cobham Rugby & Sports Association (CRSA). We expect all members to comply with the Club's terms and conditions, which incorporate the England Lacrosse Association's Code of Conduct Policies and those of CRSA.
